Regular Season Round 27: Denizli - Samsun 82-75

The biggest surprise took place in Denizl where host Merkezefendi (19-8) beat league's leader Samsun (18-9) 82-75 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Samsun. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Merkezefendi looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Hakan Yapar (202-84) who scored 18 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Serkan Mentese (175-91) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Merkezefendi players scored in double figures. Merkezefendi's coach Zafer Aktas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Brazilian center Tim Soares (211-97, college: Master's) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and American guard Kahlil Dukes (183-95, college: Niagara, agency: Alti Sport) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Merkezefendi have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Samsun at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the second place with nine games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Denizli.
