Regular Season Round 38: Khimik - Ternopil-TNEU 97-83

The most important game in the last round took place in Yuzhny between third ranked Ternopil-TNEU (24-14) and seventh ranked Khimik (19-17) on Friday night. Ternopil-TNEU was defeated by Khimik on the road 83-97. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ternopil-TNEU. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 14 points. They outrebounded Ternopil-TNEU 40-25 including 19 on the offensive glass. Khimik looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Lewis Sullivan (201-95, college: UAB, agency: BIG) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds. The other American import forward Tyrell Nelson (201-95, college: Gardner-Webb) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Khimik players scored in double figures. Nigerian forward Avery Ugba (203-94, college: Austin Peay, agency: BIG) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Omar Calhoun (198-93, college: UConn, agency: Players Group) added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Ternopil-TNEU. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimik maintains seventh position with 19-17 record. Newly promoted Ternopil-TNEU keeps the third place with 14 games lost. Khimik are looking forward to face league's second-placed Dnipro at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ternopil-TNEU will have a break next round.
