Regular Season Round 11: Ilirija - Postojna 73-72

The biggest surprise took place in Ljubljana where host Ilirija (6-2) edged league's leader Postojna (7-2) 73-72 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Postojna. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 17-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Luka Voncina (193-91, college: Charlotte) who scored 19 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Niko Bacvic (191-97) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Ilirija players scored in double figures. Forward Gasper Rojko (200-96) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds and guard Tilen Zalar (190-87) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Ilirija have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 6-2 record behind leader Troti, which they share with LTH Castings. Postojna at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Troti. Postojna will play next round against strong LTH Castings trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Ilirija will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Ljubljana. It will be extra interesting game as Ljubljana is their local rival from Ljubljana.
