An interesting game for ALBA Berlin (24-6) which played road game in Muenchen against one of their biggest challengers Bayern Muenchen (23-8). Second ranked ALBA Berlin had an easy win 100-62. ALBA Berlin dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Bayern Muenchen's 26 and made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Bayern Muenchen 32-19 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. ALBA Berlin looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Bayern Muenchen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Luke Sikma (202-89, college: Portland) who led his team to a victory with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second position with 24-6 record having just two points less than leader Ludwigsburg. Bayern Muenchen at the other side keeps the third place with eight games lost. ALBA Berlin are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Rasta Vechta (#18) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Bayern Muenchen will play against MBC (#16) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
