An interesting game for ALBA Berlin (24-6) which played road game in Muenchen against one of their biggest challengers Bayern Muenchen (23-8). Second ranked ALBA Berlin had an easy win 100-62. ALBA Berlin dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Bayern Muenchen's 26 and made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Bayern Muenchen 32-19 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. ALBA Berlin looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Bayern Muenchen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Luke Sikma (202-89, college: Portland) who led his team to a victory with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. ALBA Berlin are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Rasta Vechta (#18) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Bayern Muenchen will play against MBC (#16) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
