Regular Season Round 39: Khimik - Dnipro 66-47

The game between second ranked Dnipro (25-12) and seventh ranked Khimik (20-17) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Dnipro was crushed by Khimik in Yuzhny 66-47. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-47. Khimik forced 22 Dnipro turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Lewis Sullivan (201-95, college: UAB, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Tyrell Nelson (201-95, college: Gardner-Webb) helped adding 13 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was international center Viacheslav Kravtsov (212-87, agency: BeoBasket) with 13 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and the former international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (205-89, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 4 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimik maintains seventh place with 20-17 record. Defending champion Dnipro keeps the second position with 12 games lost. Khimik will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dnipro will play on the road against Prometey in Kamianske and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
