Very expected game when 15th ranked Ceyhan (4-23) was smashed by ninth ranked Mersin Univ. (13-14) in Adana 100-66 on Wednesday. Mersin Univ. dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Ceyhan's 36. Mersin Univ. forced 25 Ceyhan turnovers and outrebounded them 56-33 including a 39-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Ceyhan's players. American forward Caliya Robinson (190-97, college: Georgia) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international Fahriye Bayraktar (185-95) supported her with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Mersin Univ. players scored in double figures. Mersin Univ.'s coach Dursun Katkat felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by Fatma Icacan (-1) did not help to save the game for Ceyhan. Seval Ercan (-99) added 18 points and 5 rebounds. Mersin Univ. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Fenerbahce G. Ceyhan lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 23 games lost.
