The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (28-3) on the court of eighth ranked Brose Bamberg on Friday night. Visitors were edged by Brose Bamberg 94-93. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of EnBW Ludwigsburg. They outrebounded EnBW Ludwigsburg 41-29 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brose Bamberg looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for Italian guard Michele Vitali (196-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American Chase Fieler (203-92, college: FGCU) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American Jordan Hulls (180-90, college: Indiana) responded with 14 points and 9 assists and the other American import Barry Brown Jr (190-96, college: Kansas St.) scored 23 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Brose Bamberg maintains eighth place with 16-14 record. EnBW Ludwigsburg at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Brose Bamberg are looking forward to face Braunschweig (#9) on the road in the next round. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against Telekom Baskets (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
