Regular Season Round 41: Khimik - K.Sokoly 82-72

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Khimik (21-17) beat 9th ranked K.Sokoly (9-29) in Yuzhny 82-72 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. K.Sokoly managed to win third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimik had a 12-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Lewis Sullivan (201-95, college: UAB, agency: BIG) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Tyrell Nelson (201-95, college: Gardner-Webb) accounted for 27 points and 7 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Four Khimik players scored in double figures. American guard Brandon Boggs (198-92, college: WCU, agency: Mansfield and Associates) came up with 18 points and the former international point guard Igor Boyarkin (182-95, agency: BIG) added 9 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively for K.Sokoly in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Khimik. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Budivelnyk. Loser K.Sokoly keeps the ninth position with 29 games lost. Khimik will meet Cherkasy (#8) on the road in the next round. K.Sokoly will play against Dnipro and hope to secure a win.
