Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (22-10) won against at home 7th ranked Hamburg Towers (20-12) 85-79. Canadian guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists. Belgian swingman Elias Lasisi (191-92) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. Estonian forward Maik-Kalev Kotsar (211-96, college: S.Carolina) replied with 26 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard TJ Shorts (175-97, college: UC Davis) added 16 points in the effort for Hamburg Towers. Hamburg Towers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Crailsheim Merlins maintains fifth position with 22-10 record. Newly promoted Hamburg Towers keep the seventh place with 12 games lost.
