Mures CSU (7-1) recorded its first loss on the court of second ranked Ploiesti CSM on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Ploiesti CSM 86-76. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Mures CSU. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-76. Ploiesti CSM outrebounded Mures CSU 39-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Joshua Reynolds (193, college: Madonna) fired a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Center Andrei Ene (202-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Five Ploiesti CSM players scored in double figures. Belarusian-Moldovan Vladislav Solopa (202-95) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and Montenegrin point guard Goran Martinic (187-87) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Mures CSU's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ploiesti CSM have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-2 record having just one point less than leader Mures CSU. Mures CSU at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Ploiesti CSM are looking forward to face Cluj CSU (#7) in Cluj Napoca in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mures CSU will play at home against Ploiesti CSU (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
