There was no surprise in Giessen where 17th ranked 46ers (8-26) were defeated by ninth ranked Braunschweig (16-18) 103-91 on Sunday. Braunschweig looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Lithuanian point guard Arnas Velicka (192-99) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Karim Jallow (198-97) chipped in 24 points during the contest (made all of his seven free throws). At the losing side American forward Scottie James Jr (201-96, college: Liberty) responded with 30 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import center John Bryant (211-87, college: Santa Clara) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Braunschweig and four 46ers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Braunschweig have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 16-18 record. Loser 46ers keep the seventeenth place with 26 games lost.
