Bottom-ranked Vasco (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 89-77 loss to fourth ranked Sangalhos (4-4) in Porto. They also forced 21 Vasco turnovers and outrebounded them 45-28 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by Vasco helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Four Vasco players scored in double figures. Vasco's coach tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sangalhos moved-up to third place. Vasco lost their seventh game in a row. Vasco at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with seven games lost. Sangalhos' next round opponent will be Ginasio (#7) in Figueira da Foz. Vasco will play on the road against the league's second-placed Povoa and hopes to get finally their first victory.
