Second Stage Round 4: Ploiesti CSM - Stiinta 75-66

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ploiesti. Third ranked Ploiesti CSM faced 4th ranked Stiinta. Host Ploiesti CSM (3-1) defeated guests from Bucaresti (1-3) 75-66. Stiinta was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 27-16 charge of Ploiesti CSM, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 24 Stiinta turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of center Vlad Negoitescu (204-91, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Joshua Reynolds (193, college: Madonna) who added 12 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four Ploiesti CSM players scored in double figures. At the losing side Moldovan center Vasile Odagiu (213-95, college: MNU) responded with 7 points and 14 rebounds and guard Octavian Ilie (-3) scored 8 points and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ploiesti CSM moved-up to second place, which they share with Mures CSU. Newly promoted Stiinta keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Agronomia. Ploiesti CSM will meet Mures CSU (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Stiinta will play against Agronomia in Bucuresti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
