Recklinghausen used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Hagen 90-65 on Saturday night. Recklinghausen outrebounded Hagen BG 46-33 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Hagen BG's players. The best player for the winners was point guard David Ewald (185-99) who scored 17 points, 9 assists and 5 steals. American swingman Kendall Stafford (193-97, college: N.Alabama) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Five Recklinghausen players scored in double figures. American forward Salathiel Ligons (201-84) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Vytautas Nedzinskas (196-87) added 5 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Recklinghausen will meet ETB Miners in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hagen BG will play against Ibbenbueren and hope to win that game.
