Regular Season Round 1: Giessen - Bayreuth 86-74

46ers used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Bayreuth 86-74 on Sunday night. American swingman Brayon Blake (201-95, college: Idaho) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American-South Sudanese Nuni Omot (206-94, college: Baylor) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Terry Allen (203-93, college: Richmond) responded with 19 points and the other American import guard Marcus Thornton (193-93, college: William & Mary) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Five 46ers and four Bayreuth players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. 46ers will meet Brose Bamberg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bayreuth will play against BG Goettingen and hope to win that game.
