Rotenburg/Scheessel used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Marburg 106-59 on Saturday night. Rotenburg/Scheessel dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Blue Dolphins' 28 and made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Blue Dolphins 39-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. Rotenburg/Scheessel shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Toshua Leavitt (162-99, college: Texas St.) who scored 35 points (!!!) (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Mirja Beckmann (187-98) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Four Rotenburg/Scheessel players scored in double figures. Guard Selma Yesilova (177-1) produced 9 points and 6 rebounds and forward Jasmin Weyell (177-99) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Rotenburg/Scheessel will meet at home Baskets Grunberg in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Blue Dolphins will play against Braunschweig and hope to win that game.
