Regular Season Round 2: Bad Homburg - Stuttgart 102-37

Homburger TG used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Stuttgart 102-37 on Sunday night. Homburger TG dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Stuttgart's 18. They outrebounded Stuttgart 34-23 including 22 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Homburger TG especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Stuttgart's players. The best player for the winners was American center Natalia Bruening (193-97, college: UCSB) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import guard Elisabeth Klinker (178, college: Idaho) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Four Homburger TG players scored in double figures. Croatian center Sara Iles-Amrhein (185-92) produced 7 points and point guard Birte Bencker (176-95) added 4 points respectively for the guests. Stuttgart's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Homburger TG will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Stuttgart will play against Speyer / Schifferstadt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
