Regular Season Round 1: SKM I - Zalgiris I 67-44

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Zalgiris I in Vilniaus. Visitors were rolled over by SKM I 67-44. The game was mostly controlled by SKM I. Zalgiris I was better in fourth quarter 12-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SKM I forced 27 Zalgiris I turnovers and outrebounded them 50-28 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Tomas Isaras (197-4) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. Gediminas Alisas (196-4) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four SKM I players scored in double figures. Forward Kajus Kaneckas (196-4) answered with 15 points and 5 rebounds and guard Arunas Rimkus (193-4) added 10 points in the effort for Zalgiris I. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SKM I will play against KKM I in Klaipeda in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zalgiris I will play at home against ASRC to get more than just one victory in their record.
