Focsani used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Miercurea Ciuc 68-50 on Wednesday night. The game without a history. Focsani led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Russian-Belarusian forward Aliaksandr Pustahvar (201-85) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Baker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds by center Nicolae-Marian Ciuca (200-99) did not help to save the game for Miercurea Ciuc. Serbian swingman Mihajlo Bogdanovic (197-96) added 11 points for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Focsani will meet Pitesti on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Miercurea Ciuc will play against Ploiesti CSM and hope to win that game.
