The most surprising game was a loss of Vaerlose (2-1) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were rolled over by Randers (1-1) 109-80. Randers dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Vaerlose's 32 and made 28-of-35 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Vaerlose 48-31 including a 39-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Vaerlose helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American-Jamaican power forward Reginald Kissoonlal (213-96, college: Marian, IN, agency: One Motive Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international forward Chris Nielsen (193-85) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Kissoonlal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Mikkel Hauge (193-99, college: Seattle) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Asbjorn Nerlov (196-98) added 17 points in the effort for Vaerlose. Five Randers and four Vaerlose players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Randers are looking forward to face Svendborg at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vaerlose will play against Wolfpack in Herlev and is hoping to win this game.
