Regular Season Round 4: Hanau - Speyer 59-72

There was a minor upset when bottom-ranked White Wings (0-2) lost to eleventh ranked Speyer (1-2) in Hanau 59-72 on Saturday. Speyer forced 22 White Wings turnovers. The winners were led by Michael Marte (201-92) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Valentin Rappold (187-1) supported him with 8 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Four Speyer players scored in double figures. Even 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists by American swingman JD Tisdale (196-93, college: Rogers St.) did not help to save the game for White Wings. Italian-Brazilian forward Victor Demetrio (206-95, college: OVU) added 6 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. White Wings' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Speyer left bottom position moving up to seventh place in North, which they share with AC Wizards. Loser White Wings still closes the standings with two games lost. Speyer will meet at home higher ranked Deisenhofen (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. White Wings will play against Bayern (#12) in Muenchen and hope to get finally their first victory.
