Rather expected game when Saarlouis/Dillingen (1-2) was defeated on the road by Schwabach (3-0) 71-64 on Saturday. Schwabach forced 33 Saarlouis/Dillingen turnovers. Strangely Saarlouis/Dillingen outrebounded Schwabach 50-38 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Ericka Mattingly (170, college: UMKC) who scored 23 points and 8 steals. Anna Furman (188-99) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. Schwabach's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Riley Popplewell (180-97, college: USC Upstate) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds and the other American import guard Imani Dixon added 20 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Schwabach will meet at home Rhein Main Baskets in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Saarlouis/Dillingen will play against Ludwigsburg (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
