Very predictable result when sixth ranked Saarlouis (3-1) defeated at home bottom-ranked Kaiserslautern (0-3) 106-90 on Saturday. Saarlouis made 29-of-32 free shots (90.6 percent) during the game. Saarlouis had a 31-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Kaiserslautern's players. American guard TJ Lang (201-95, college: S.Florida) fired 27 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. The other American import guard Ricky Easterling (189-83, college: Bridgewater) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Lang is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Saarlouis players scored in double figures. American point guard Joseph Feraci (180, college: LSUA) produced 28 points (made all of his seven free throws) and Mathias Groh (204-2) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Saarlouis moved-up to third place in South West, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Kaiserslautern still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Ulm BBU 01. Saarlouis will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kaiserslautern will play against Mannheim (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
