The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Gladiators as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Gladiators smashed 12th ranked Falcons in Trier 90-55. Gladiators dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Falcons' 28. They outrebounded Falcons 37-25 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian center Radoslav Pekovic (215-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian Brody Clarke (205-96, college: Alberta) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Gladiators' coach Marco van den Berg felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Tim Koepple (184-0) replied with 13 points and American swingman AJ Davis (206-95, college: UCF) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Falcons. Gladiators have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Falcons lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with three games lost. They share the position with Bremerhaven and Kirchheim. Falcons will play next round against Ehingen/Urspringschule trying to get back on the winning streak. Gladiators will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Science City Jena at home.
