Regular Season Round 4: Dorsten - Hagen BG 88-89

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Hagen BG and bottom-ranked Dorsten had identical 0-2 record. But Dorsten was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Hagen 89-88 on Saturday night. Strangely Dorsten outrebounded Hagen BG 40-25 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Salathiel Ligons (201-84) fired 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Soeren Fritze (190-94) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists. Hagen BG's coach Kosta Filippou used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Tyler Brevard (189-98, college: Lander) produced 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian forward Uros Cica (201-0) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Hagen BG (1-2) left bottom position moving up to eighth place in West, which they share with Wulfen and Hamm. It was Dorsten's third loss in a row. They still close the standings with three games lost. They share the position with ETB Miners. Hagen BG will meet at home higher ranked Hertener Loewen (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dorsten will play against ETB Miners (#14) in Essen and hopes to get finally their first victory.
