LKL top team - Zalgiris (5-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Neptunas (1-3) in Kaunas 98-79. Zalgiris shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. DR Congolese guard Emmanuel Mudiay (196-96) stepped up and scored 18 points and 7 assists for the winners and German forward Niels Giffey (200-91, college: UConn, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Center Benas Griciunas (210-94, college: EWU) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and the former international Edgaras Zelionis (207-89, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zalgiris have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-0 record. Neptunas at the other side dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
