Regular Season Round 2: Saule - VKM 82-93

Very predictable result when VKM won against Saule in Siauliai 93-82 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-82. VKM dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Saule's 38. They outrebounded Saule 47-26 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. VKM looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Forward Danielius Kasparas (198-4) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Gedas Jucius (173-4) supported him with 30 points. VKM's coach Linas Salkus used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 27 points and 7 rebounds by Eitvidas Juodris (-4) did not help to save the game for Saule. Point guard Deividas Zukauskas (162-5) added 18 points and 4 steals for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. VKM will meet at home Zalgiris I in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Saule will play against Zalgiris II in Kaunas and hope to win that game.
