Regular Season Round 6: Krivbas - Budivelnyk 66-88

The biggest surprise of round 6 was guest Budivelnyk's (4-2) easy road victory over Krivbas (#6) 88-66 on Thursday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Budivelnyk. Krivbas managed to win fourth quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Budivelnyk dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Krivbas' 34. The best player for the winners was Puerto Rican guard Gian Clavell (193-93, college: Colorado St.) who scored 23 points and 7 assists. International swingman Bogdan Bliznyuk (198-95, college: EWU) chipped in 13 points. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Zach Copeland (193-97, college: Illinois St.) who recorded 18 points and 4 assists and power forward Vladislav Frolov (202-98, agency: BIG) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Budivelnyk moved-up to third place, which they share with Khimik and Kyiv Basket. Newly promoted Krivbas keep the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with K.Sokoly. Budivelnyk is looking forward to face Mykolaiv (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Krivbas will play against Cherkasy (#11) and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
