There was a small surprise when sixth ranked TG Neuss (3-1) defeated at home 3rd ranked Rist Wedel (2-1) 79-61 on Saturday. It was a key game for the top position in North. TG Neuss forced 22 Rist Wedel turnovers and outrebounded them 50-28 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Lydia Baxter (183, college: SHSU) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Swingman Nicole Egert (178) chipped in 8 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four TG Neuss players scored in double figures. Marianna Byvatov produced 25 points and 9 rebounds and Marlene Schuncke (175-3) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. TG Neuss have a solid three-game winning streak.
