There was no surprise in Giessen where bottom-ranked Rackelos (0-4) were defeated by leader Koblenz (4-0) 88-83 on Saturday. Koblenz made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Koblenz outrebounded Rackelos 45-34 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Brian Butler (196-91) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Marvin Heckel (190-97) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Koblenz's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and Tim Uhlemann (203-99) added 23 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Koblenz have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Koblenz maintains second place in South with 4-0 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Muenster. Rackelos at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with FC Bayern 2. Koblenz will meet at home Coburg (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rackelos will play against Deisenhofen and look forward to get finally their first victory.
