Regular Season Round 1: Fenerbahce - Cankaya 89-57

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Cankaya in Istanbul on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Fenerbahce 89-57. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Cankaya's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 5 assists (made all of her nine free throws !!!). American point guard Kayla McBride (180-92, college: Notre Dame) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. American point guard Tan White (170-82, college: MSU) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import swingman Alexis Prince (188-94, college: Baylor) added 15 points in the effort for Cankaya. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fenerbahce is looking forward to face Ormanspor in Ankara in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Cankaya will play on the road against Galatasaray in Istanbul and is hoping to win this game.
