Regular Season Round 2: Flames - Piraten 66-80

Very expected game in Vienna where Flames were defeated by Worthersee Piraten 80-66 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 42-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Shawn Ray (194-80, college: NCCU) had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Slovenian forward Simon Finzgar (196-80) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American guard Fabio Sohnel (193, college: Mineral Area) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and forward Ben Seipt (196-96) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Worthersee Piraten will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Flames will play against Rocks in Mattersburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
