Ormanspor used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Kocaeli 94-57 on Sunday night. Ormanspor dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Izmit's 30. Ormanspor forced 23 Izmit turnovers and outrebounded them 48-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American center Teaira McCowan (201-96, college: MSU) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and the former international point guard Sevgi Uzun (170-97) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Kristina Higgins (196-94, college: Baylor) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and Romanian forward Gabriela Marginean (182-87, college: Drexel) added 16 points respectively for Izmit in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ormanspor will meet at home Fenerbahce in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Izmit will play against Besiktas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
