Rather expected game when 7th ranked Coburg (1-3) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Loewen (3-1) 93-76 on Sunday. Loewen made 28-of-33 free shots (84.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Coburg outrebounded Loewen 44-30 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American Tyseem Lyles (185-92, college: Mercy) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Miles Osei (196-2) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Loewen players scored in double figures. Loewen's coach Uvis Helmanis used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Nigerian-American forward Princeton Onwas (198-93, college: SJSU) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and Christopher Wolf (200-95) added 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Loewen have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in South, which they share with OrangeAcad. and Frankfurt Jrs. Coburg lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with AC Wizards. Loewen will meet at home Bayern (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Coburg will play against the league's second-placed Koblenz (#2) and hope to win that game.
