Regular Season Round 1: Kayseri - Mersin 75-85

But Kayseri was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Mersin 85-75 on Sunday night. It was a great shooting night for Mersin especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. American guard Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: UConn) nailed 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and forward Feride Akalan (180-1) accounted for 15 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Mersin's coach Osman Orak used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Derin Yaya (174-97) came up with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American swingman Brooque Williams (172-89, college: California, PA) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively for Kayseri in the defeat. Mersin will meet at home Botas A. in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kayseri will play against Antalya 07 and hope to win that game.
