Regular Season Round 7: Jonava - Nevezis 88-76

Very expected game when 8th ranked Nevezis (1-3) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Jonava (4-1) 88-76. It was a very good performance for Belgian point guard Emmanuel Lecomte (180-95, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists. Vitalijus Kozys (201-99) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Jonava's coach Virginijus Seskus allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Paulius Murauskas (203-4) answered with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Senegalese power forward Amar Sylla (206-1) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Nevezis. Four Jonava and five Nevezis players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Jonava. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Rytas and Juventus. Nevezis lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with three games lost. Jonava will play against Siauliai (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Nevezis will play against the league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas to get more than just one victory in their record.
