Regular Season Round 7: Ch.Mavpy 2 - MBC-Niko 2 84-83

A very close game took place in Cherkasy between Ch.Mavpy 2 and MBC-Niko 2. First ranked Ch.Mavpy 2 (3-1) got a very close home victory over 6th ranked MBC-Niko 2 (2-4). Ch.Mavpy 2 managed to escape with a 1-point win 84-83 on Friday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But MBC-Niko 2 won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ch.Mavpy 2 forced 21 MBC-Niko 2 turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ch.Mavpy 2 made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for forward Illia Zdyrka (197-3) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Yuriy Romanovskyy (192-1) helped adding 15 points and 6 assists. Ch.Mavpy 2's coach Georgi Stupenchuk used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side forward Oleksandr Garbar (200-1) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Maxim Safonov (190-3) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ch.Mavpy 2 have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Ch.Mavpy 2 went down to second position due to points difference, which they share with Prometey-2. Loser MBC-Niko 2 dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. They share the position with SumDU.
