No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Ploiesti CSM (4-1) edged on the road 12th ranked Focsani (1-4) 86-84 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 20-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American players dominated the game. Point guard Kwame Vaughn (190-90, college: CS Fullerton, agency: BIG) nailed 16 points and 5 assists for the winning side and center Earl Watson (201-90, college: URI) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Power forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds and guard Henri Wade-Chatman (188-92, college: Edinboro) added 24 points and 5 assists respectively for Focsani in the defeat. Five Ploiesti CSM and four Focsani players scored in double figures. Focsani's coach Mihai Petrut tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ploiesti CSM moved-up to second place, which they share with Oradea. Focsani lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. They share it with Dinamo B. and Sibiu. Ploiesti CSM will meet Timisoara (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Focsani will play against Constanta and hope to win that game.
