Regular Season Round 5: Ludwigsburg - Schwabach 81-54

There was a minor upset when 3rd placed Schwabach (3-2) was crushed on the road by eighth ranked Ludwigsburg (3-2) 81-54 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was power forward Amelie Kroener (189-2) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Nadja Stoeckle (178-99) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Five Ludwigsburg players scored in double figures. Ludwigsburg's coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dutch forward Yvette Adriaans (186-96) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Ericka Mattingly (170, college: UMKC) added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Ludwigsburg moved-up to fourth place in South, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Schwabach. Ludwigsburg will meet league's leader Rhein Main Baskets in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Schwabach will have a break next round.
