Very important is a road loss of third ranked Gladiators (4-2) against fifteenth ranked Artland Dragons (2-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Gladiators were defeated by Artland Dragons in a tough game in Quakenbrueck 98-102. Artland Dragons made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Artland Dragons players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a good game for naturalized American point guard Zachary Ensminger (195-1) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 4 assists. Czech center Adam Pechacek (206-95) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Artland Dragons' coach Tuna Isler allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Canadian Brody Clarke (205-96, college: Alberta) replied with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian center Radoslav Pekovic (215-94) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Gladiators. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Artland Dragons moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Bochum. Gladiators at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Artland Dragons will play against higher ranked Seawolves (#6) in Rostock in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gladiators will play at home against Rasta Vechta (#17) and hope to get back on the winning track.
