Regular Season Round 6: Bensheim - Limburg 78-65

There was an upset when higher ranked Limburg (2-4) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Bensheim (1-5) 78-65 on Saturday. American guard Philip Jenkins (188-90, college: Life) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Eric Curth (193-92) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Bensheim's coach Igor Starcevic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American power forward KJ Sherrill (203-91, college: Augusta) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and Austrian-Croatian point guard Matej Kljaic (189-93) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bensheim left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place in South West. Loser Limburg dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Bensheim will meet Ulm BBU 01 (#14) on the road in the next round. Limburg will play against Giessen Pointers (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
