Regular Season Round 6: Vechta - Nuernberg 107-118

Rather predictable result when thirteenth ranked Falcons (3-3) beat on the road bottom-ranked Rasta Vechta (0-6) 118-107 on Saturday. Falcons dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Rasta Vechta's 38. They outrebounded Rasta Vechta 29-11 including a 21-7 advantage in defensive rebounds. Falcons shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. American swingman AJ Davis (206-95, college: UCF) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Cameroonian Roland Nyama (198-93, college: Stony Brook) chipped in 17 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Joshua Young (184-88, college: Drake) with 19 points and 7 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import center Tyrone Nash (203-88, college: Notre Dame) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Rasta Vechta's coach let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Falcons moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Bremerhaven and Kirchheim. Loser Rasta Vechta still closes the standings with six games lost. Falcons will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rasta Vechta will play against the league's second-placed Gladiators (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
