Regular Season Round 6: Dorsten - Deutzer 76-73

Round in Regionalliga means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Dorsten where host Dorsten (1-4) edged league's leader Deutzer (4-1) 76-73 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Deutzer. The best player for the winners was American guard Tyler Brevard (189-98, college: Lander) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Jason Fabek (190-0) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Brevard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Anton Geretzki (204-98) who recorded 16 points and 7 rebounds and Philipp Gruber (193-96) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Deutzer's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dorsten left bottom position moving up to eleventh place in West, which they share with Hagen BG and Hamm. Deutzer at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by TSV Troester. Deutzer will play next round against Hagen BG trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Dorsten will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Leverkusen 2 on the road.
