Regular Season Round 6: Kretinga - Suduva-Mantinga 63-89

Very predictable result when third ranked Suduva-Mantinga (5-1) rolled over on the road 13th ranked Kretinga (1-5) 89-63 on Saturday. They outrebounded Kretinga 43-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. Suduva-Mantinga looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Zygimantas Simonis (194-95) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the former international center Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) supported him with 19 points. Four Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Even 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by point guard Rokas Simkevicius (189-90) did not help to save the game for Kretinga. Eimantas Zilius (201-99) added 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Suduva-Mantinga keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Kretinga dropped to the twelfth place with five games lost. They share the position with Delikatesas. Suduva-Mantinga will meet at home league's second-placed Vilkaviskis in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kretinga will play against Mazeikiai (#8) and hope to win that game.
