Regular Season Round 6: Wedel - Duesseldorf 93-80
Date: October 24, 2021
Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Rist Wedel (3-2) won against at home 9th ranked Duesseldorf (1-4) 93-80 on Sunday. Croatian Martin Jelic (198-99, agency: Basketballa) notched 20 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and American point guard Jordan Walker (184-97, college: Morehead St.) supported him with 22 points. Even 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists by American guard Booker Coplin (191-97, college: Augsburg) did not help to save the game for Duesseldorf. Mark Gebhardt (198-94) added 11 points and 9 rebounds. Five Rist Wedel and four Duesseldorf players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rist Wedel moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with BSW Sixers. Loser Duesseldorf keeps the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Bernau and Koeln. Rist Wedel will meet Schwelm (#8) on the road in the next round. Duesseldorf will play against ETV and hope to win that game.
