Regular Season Round 3: Karsiyaka - Cesme 75-64

There was a minor upset in Izmir where Cesme (1-2) was defeated by Karsiyaka (1-2) 75-64 on Sunday. Karsiyaka looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Kyra Lambert (175-96, college: Texas) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Egesu Kurtyemez (186-0) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Dilara Tongar (169-91) who recorded a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and American center Britany Miller (192-87, college: FSU) added 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Karsiyaka will meet Samsun (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cesme will play against Fenerbahce G. (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
