Ovarense's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after two consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Guimaraes, where they edged Vitoria SC (1-3) 82-81. They outrebounded Vitoria SC 37-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Ovarense shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Nikola Tadic (206-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American Kameron Hankerson (196-98, college: Green Bay) who added 22 points during the contest. Ovarense's coach Joao Tiago allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Carlos Cardoso (183-97) responded with 19 points and 4 assists and American guard Brandon Austin (196-95, college: Samford) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ovarense (1-2) left bottom position moving up to eighth place. Vitoria SC at the other side dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Ovarense will play against Academica (#10) in Coimbra in the next round. Vitoria SC will play at home against Imortal to get more than just one victory in their record.
