Regular Season Round 8: Siauliai - Jonava 93-87

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Jonava (4-2) against seventh ranked Siauliai (3-3) on Monday night. Visiting Jonava was defeated by Siauliai in a tough game in Siauliai 87-93. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Jonava. Worth to mention a great performance of Giedrius Staniulis (206-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and American guard Jon Elmore (190-95, college: Marshall) who added 20 points during the contest. The former international swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95, agency: BIG) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) scored 17 points. Four Jonava players scored in double figures. Siauliai moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Dzukija. Newly promoted Jonava keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Juventus. Siauliai will play against Neptunas (#8) in Klaipeda in the next round. Jonava will play on the road against Juventus (#4) in Utena and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
