Regular Season Round 4: Saule - VKKM 64-83

Very expected game in Siauliai where bottom-ranked Saule (0-4) was rolled over by top-ranked VKKM (4-0) 83-64 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by VKKM. Saule managed to win second period 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Saule 43-32 including 29 on the defensive glass. VKKM looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Kristupas Keinys (199-4) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and point guard Arnas Knystautas (186-4) who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. VKKM's coach Mindaugas Bugys allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Eitvidas Juodris (-4) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Gustas Blinkinas (-4) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. VKKM have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with VKM. Loser Saule still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Zalgiris I and RasKKSC. VKKM will meet at home bottom-ranked Zalgiris I (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Saule will play against RasKKSC in Klaipeda and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
