Regular Season Round 6: Amager - Vaerlose 71-78
Date: October 28, 2021
Bottom-ranked Amager is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to fifth ranked Vaerlose (3-3) 78-71 on Thursday evening. Vaerlose forced 32 Amager turnovers. Strangely Amager outrebounded Vaerlose 45-30 including a 37-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international forward Peter Moller (190-94, college: MSU Denver) notched 15 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Asbjorn Nerlov (196-98) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Andreas Meilby (200-92) did not help to save the game for Amager. American power forward Jordan Dallas (208-97, college: Seattle) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Amager's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vaerlose moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Horsens IC and BAC. Loser Amager still closes the standings with six games lost. Vaerlose will meet at home higher ranked Naestved (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Amager will play against Randers (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
